Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deangelo Sturtsil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henrique Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramos comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sepultura - Nomad kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Henrique Ramos will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Deangelo Sturtsil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henrique Ramos!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Ron Honeybunn and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sturtsil shoots in for a double leg but Ramos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ramos stuffs the takedown attempt from Sturtsil. Sturtsil gets slowly back to his feet.
Sloppy strikes from Ramos. Those never looked like landing.
Sturtsil tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ramos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sturtsil somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deangelo Sturtsil. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Deangelo Sturtsil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ramos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Sturtsil is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ramos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ramos has escaped and now he's on top!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ramos is looking to work some ground and pound but Sturtsil has wrist control.

Ramos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sturtsil is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Ramos chips away with some ground and pound.
Ramos trying to control the position from guard on top but Sturtsil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sturtsil has his foot on Ramos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ramos works his way back into a safe position though.

Ramos connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ramos engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ramos throws a hook but Sturtsil blocks it.
Ramos has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sturtsil is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Ramos takes a swing at Sturtsil's ribcage but misses.
Ramos leaves Sturtsil with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sturtsil shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ramos as he jumps to the side.
Deangelo Sturtsil is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ramos stuffs the takedown attempt from Sturtsil. Sturtsil gets slowly back to his feet.

Sturtsil changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ramos tries to avoid it but Sturtsil manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ramos to the ground. Ramos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ramos unleashes a big counter combination but Sturtsil bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Ramos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sturtsil shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ramos makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ramos, right into the meat.
Ramos lands the left hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sturtsil is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ramos sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sturtsil gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Sturtsil tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Ramos is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Sturtsil buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Sturtsil!! Sturtsil is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Ramos throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Henrique Ramos!
During a confident post fight interview, Henrique Ramos thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
