Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dan Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Golovkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Phillips manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Golovkin on his heels. He'll look to pass Golovkin's guard now, I'm sure.

Phillips drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Golovkin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Phillips has Golovkin in his guard.

Phillips had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Golovkin defends it easily.
Golovkin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Golovkin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Phillips has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Golovkin has managed to get both his arms back between Phillips's legs - danger averted.
