Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jamal Quik!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson throws a body punch but Quik moves out of range.
Quik throws a head kick but Anderson moves out of range.
Anderson walks forward, straight into a front kick from Quik.
Anderson moves out of range of the body kick from Quik.
Anderson takes one on the button.
Quik keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Quik punishes Anderson's body with a nice straight punch.
Anderson blocks a jab.
Quik tests Anderson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Quik misses with a straight right.
Anderson scores with a nice right hand.
Left hook, right uppercut from Anderson.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Anderson lands a slapping body shot.
Quik throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Quik pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Quik changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Anderson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Anderson is trying to get back to half guard.
Anderson seems a little lost for a moment, as Quik dominates the positioning.
Anderson is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at MMA Sanok Training Center, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Anderson is looking for a sweep.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Anderson is not content to let Quik control the position.

Quik wants to take a breather but Anderson manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Quik.

Quik slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anderson has an active guard here but Quik has managed to pass into half guard.

Quik is keen to just control but Anderson is a slippery customer.

Quik must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Quik stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Anderson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Anderson.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Anderson pulls Quik in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Anderson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Quik to the mat! Quik manages to get full guard.
Quik wants to sweep here but Anderson controlling him for the moment.
Quik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A close round but Jamal Quik will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Quik tries to clinch but Anderson is having none of it.
It looked like Anderson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Quik.

Anderson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Quik looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Anderson is fending him off so far but Quik persists. Nope, Anderson circles away and we're back to standing.

Quik goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Quik misses with a body kick.
Anderson drops his hands momentarily and Quik takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Anderson slips under a jab from Quik.
A little feinted left hand from Anderson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Quik has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Quik lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A head kick from Quik lands but Anderson takes it in his stride.
Anderson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Quik at a distance.

Anderson moves out of range as Quik strikes.
Quik fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Anderson is out of range.
Quik misses with a looping left.
A cross from Anderson lands.
Quik throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Anderson on the side of the head.
Quik is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Quik throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Quik dodges the punch combination from Anderson.
Anderson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jamal Quik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Quik closes the distance and pushes Anderson back into the cage.

A nice right hand lands inside from Quik.
Quik lands a right hand that snaps the head of Anderson backwards.
Quik tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Quik lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Anderson backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Quik swings wildly with an uppercut but Anderson uses good head movement to avoid it.

Quik breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Quik finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
It looked like Anderson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Quik throws out a powerful jab.
Anderson is looking to wear down Quik with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Quik tries to clinch but Anderson is having none of it.
Anderson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Anderson scores with a decent looking hook.
Quik pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Quik throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Anderson's head.

Quik moves into the clinch.
Quik manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Quik is trying to break the clinch but Anderson has him pressed against the cage.

Quik tries to work over Anderson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Anderson wants to control from the top but Quik keeps moving.
Anderson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Quik holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anderson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Quik looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Quik looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Quik!

Anderson tries to buck Quik off but Quik is having none of it.
Quik works to advance to full mount. Anderson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Turd Anderson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Anderson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

I would just about give that final round to Jamal Quik.
