The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korobeikin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Semerad ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Korobeikin moves away.
Korobeikin tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Korobeikin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Korobeikin showed some decent athleticism there.
Semerad tries to get to full guard but Korobeikin has control of the leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Korobeikin uses his free foot to push down on Semerad's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Semerad.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Korobeikin is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Semerad to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Semerad shrugs it off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

I really don't envy Semerad right now.

It looks like Korobeikin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
