Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chester Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Merik Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunt has chosen Comfortably Numb as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Chester Man has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 41 - 25 - 0, fighting out of London, Merik Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt misses with a wild body shot.
Man lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hunt's sensitive parts.
Hunt walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Man checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Hunt fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The fighters circling - Man throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hunt shoots in but Man avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Man gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Man scores with a jab. Hunt acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunt lands with a nice body punch.
Hunt moves out of range of the strikes.
Hunt walks into a stiff left hand from Man.
Man lands with a kick to the temple. Hunt shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Man lands a nice looking body kick.
Man takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Hunt works the jab nicely.
Hunt lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hunt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Man circles away quickly and effectively.
Man stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hunt.
Hunt moves out of range as Man strikes.
Hunt misses the body punch
and Man counters with an outside leg kick.
Hunt throws a wild body kick that Man sees coming a mile off.
Man throws a body shot but no joy.
Hunt checks a leg kick.
Chester Man is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hunt digs a good hook to Man's body.
Man uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hunt has time to react.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hunt throws a jab but it's blocked by Man.
A decent looking cross lands there for Man.
Man bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Man thows a leg kick but Hunt checks it

and Hunt counters with a nice double leg into side control. Man won't be happy with that.

Hunt misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Hunt tries to advance to mount but can't.
Hunt misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

The strikes coming from Hunt are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Man avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hunt.
Man is not content to let Hunt control the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hunt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Man keeps working.
Hunt is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Man will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Man misses with a leg kick.
Hunt lands with a straight right. Man didn't see that one coming.
Man's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hunt connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Man scrambles back to his feet.
Hunt feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hunt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Man but Man pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Man waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hunt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Merik Hunt dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Man with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hunt misses the shot to the body.
Hunt chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Hunt throws a good cross that connects.
Hunt misses with a hook
and Man counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Hunt dodges the punch combination from Man.
Man throws a chopping leg kick but Hunt manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Man takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Hunt looks to land a combination but Man avoids it well.

Man was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Hunt looks to land a right hand but Man moved out of range.

Man throws a hook to the side of Hunt's head but Hunt sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hunt changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Man is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Man takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Man throws a low kick but Hunt avoids it.
Hunt throws a hook to the side of Man's head but Man sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Man makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Man throws a poor cross that misses

and Hunt counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Hunt sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Man defending well though.
Hunt thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hunt seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Man does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hunt slips a nice elbow through Man's hands, connecting with Man's forehead.
Hunt throws a strike but Man avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Man chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hunt can pounce on him.

Man throws a counter high kick but Hunt was just alert enough to avoid it.
Man takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Hunt connects with a leg kick. Man looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Hunt misses with a looping left.
Hunt throws a front kick aimed at Man's knee but Man avoids it well.
Hunt lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Man throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hunt sizes up Man with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Hunt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Man sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hunt somewhat.

Merik Hunt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Man ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hunt moves away.

A looping hook to the body misses from Man. Hunt does a little dance to reset his feet.

Man was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Man displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hunt.

Hunt darts in looking for a takedown but Man gets double underhooks and turns Hunt into the cage.

Hunt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Man sprawls well initially but Hunt persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Chester Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Merik Hunt.

Man drops his hands momentarily and Hunt takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Man shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A punch lands to the side of Man 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Chester Man has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hunt lands a nice shot to the body.

Merik Hunt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hunt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
