PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kezz The Convict (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Lombard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Convict comes to the cage accompanied by Locked up. Lombard has chosen Totalimmortal as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Rafael Lombard enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kezz The Convict!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rafael Lombard!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Bruno Hogan and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lombard scores with a body shot.
The Convict ducks under a wild hook from Lombard.
Lombard dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

The Convict dives in and scores a takedown into Lombard's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Convict postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The Convict's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Lombard told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

The Convict has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lombard has his foot on The Convict's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. The Convict works his way back into a safe position though.

Lombard had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. The Convict defends it easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The Convict fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lombard to the ground. The Convict is now in Lombard's guard.

Lombard sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

You can see the frustration on Lombard's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for The Convict, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
