The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plouman with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Khasbulaev to score with a decent uppercut.
Plouman blocks a jab.
Plouman slips a jab from Khasbulaev.

Plouman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Khasbulaev's waist but Khasbulaev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Plouman off to one side.
Khasbulaev swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A telegraphed right hand from Khasbulaev misses the target.
Khasbulaev scores with a decent looking hook.
Plouman takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Plouman takes one on the chin but seems OK.

It looks like Zsolt Plouman has been cut.
Plouman slips a jab and a cross from Khasbulaev.
Khasbulaev connects with a body shot that sends Plouman's belly button to the back.

Plouman moves away from the strike by Khasbulaev.

Plouman closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Khasbulaev's guard.
Khasbulaev keeping moving, preventing Plouman from controlling successfully.
Plouman stays in close to Khasbulaev's body and controls the position.
Plouman throws a big right hand that misses.
Plouman passes Khasbulaev's left leg - he's now in half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Khasbulaev's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Plouman wants to work for an arm triangle but Khasbulaev is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Plouman in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Khasbulaev tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Plouman!
