Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 19 - 1, fighting out of New York, AL Lickertwat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jai McCracken!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCracken scores with a push kick.

McCracken scores with a one two! Lickertwat had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Lickertwat changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McCracken looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
You can see the frustration on McCracken's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
McCracken is looking to reverse the position.
Lickertwat is staying tight to McCracken's torso, preventing him from escaping.
McCracken is trying to control Lickertwat's posture but Lickertwat avoids it.
We've been hearing good reports from Lickertwat's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Lickertwat remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Lickertwat seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McCracken for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lickertwat takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
McCracken has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lickertwat is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

McCracken has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lickertwat is landing a low percentage of strikes.

McCracken throws a looping overhand right but Lickertwat ducks down to avoid it.

Lickertwat has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
