The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gerson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gerson appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Joe throws a head kick that Gerson semi-blocks.
Joe misses with a body shot.
Gerson checks a low kick from Joe.
Gerson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Gerson gets the takedown into side control.
Gerson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Joe knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
