The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marx looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Huia looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marx is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Huia seems keen to control Marx's posture.
Huia wants to control the position but Marx says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Marx seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Marx looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Huia with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Marx must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Huia lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Huia swings around for an armbar but Marx sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Huia's guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Marx working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Oh but Huia is tightening it up a little... Marx has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Marx reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Marx taps out! Nice BJJ there by Huia!
