Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Goro Fujimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ares Espiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Goro Fujimoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ares Espiro!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Espiro bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Fujimoto's head.
Espiro falls off balance throwing a combination

and Fujimoto counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fujimoto moves nicely into side control.

Fujimoto looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Espiro is trying to work for a sweep but Fujimoto has mounted him!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fujimoto moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Espiro has worked his arm free - good work by Espiro!
Espiro tries to improve position but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Espiro regains half guard.

Fujimoto is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Espiro pushes Fujimoto off looking to stand but Fujimoto dives back in and keeps control.
Espiro scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Fujimoto manages to mount him!
Fujimoto tries to control but Espiro wriggling away.

Fujimoto looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Espiro bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Fujimoto isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Espiro stacks Fujimoto on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Espiro!
Fujimoto manages to get back to half guard.
Espiro wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Fujimoto uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Espiro tries to stand but Fujimoto is controlling from the bottom.

Fujimoto is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Espiro is aware though and is defending well.
Espiro would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Espiro wants to control from the top but Fujimoto keeps moving.
Fujimoto looking for a sweep. Not yet Fujimoto, not yet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Fujimoto is looking for a triangle here but Espiro uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Espiro wants to stand but Fujimoto is controlling his arm.
Fujimoto is looking to reverse the position.
Espiro tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Fujimoto struggling a bit here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Espiro is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fujimoto knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Goro Fujimoto dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Espiro smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The fighters circle momentarily. Espiro darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Espiro fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Fujimoto on the side of the head.
The crowd cheers as Espiro lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fujimoto doesn't seem phased though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Espiro bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Fujimoto's head backwards.
Espiro scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Espiro looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Espiro throws a shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice shot lands for Espiro.
Fujimoto takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Fujimoto shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Espiro dips to his left and cracks Fujimoto with an uppercut!


Fujimoto is rocked!
Espiro lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Fujimoto up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Espiro from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Fujimoto's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ares Espiro!
