The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hovi throws a big shot that misses.
Hovi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hovi clinches.
Hovi tries a body shot but Velasquez blocks it.
Hovi has a couple of punches blocked by Velasquez.
Hovi misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Velasquez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hovi throws a body kick that misses
and Velasquez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Tarmo Hovi has been cut.
Velasquez delivers a nice body kick.
Velasquez connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hovi. Hovi circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Velasquez throws a leg kick which misses Hovi's front leg but catches the back leg as Hovi tries to avoid it.
Velasquez lands a brutal head kick. Hovi looks out on his feet and Velasquez throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Juan Velasquez!
