Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ichiro Kosugi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benji Cheshire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ichiro Kosugi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Benji Cheshire!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cheshire throws a big shot that misses.

Cheshire drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kosugi swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Kosugi attempts a counter takedown but Cheshire avoids it well and moves away.

Cheshire rushes Kosugi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kosugi pulls guard effortlessly.
Cheshire is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kosugi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cheshire's guard.

Kosugi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cheshire swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Kosugi's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Ichiro Kosugi will probably get the nod.
