Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Evil Kullervo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaska Jalovaara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kullervo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kullervo Entrance Theme. Jalovaara is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Die for Metal. Evil Kullervo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Kullervo.
Jalovaara feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kullervos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Jalovaara sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

and Jalovaara takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jalovaara fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kullervo manages to avoid it.
Jalovaara moves out of range as Kullervo strikes.

I was talking to Kullervo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

A jab from Jalovaara finds it's way through Kullervo's defenses.
Kullervo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jalovaara on the side of the head.

Jalovaara gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Kullervo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jalovaara, as that shot connected.

Jalovaara has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kullervo.
Nice uppercut lands for Jalovaara. That snapped Kullervo's head back.
It looks like Evil Kullervo has been cut.
Kullervo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kullervo tries to clinch there but Jalovaara circles away.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

and Jalovaara counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jalovaara takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Jalovaara cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Jalovaara has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Jalovaara engages and cracks Kullervo with a massive lead left hook - Kullervo tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Jalovaara is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jaska Jalovaara!
A less than humble Jaska Jalovaara misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
