PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dead Shot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raymond Rousey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shot comes to the cage accompanied by Iron Man by Black Sabbath. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shot clinches.
Shot throws a head punch that misses.
Rousey has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shot avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Rousey prevents Shot from breaking the clinch.
Rousey changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Shot fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Shot throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rousey.

Shot is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Rousey is keeping busy.
Shot can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Rousey is trying to drag Shot to the mat but Shot just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Rousey is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Shot gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Rousey throws a punch but it's blocked by Shot.

Rousey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shot moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Raymond Rousey has been cut.

Rousey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rousey avoids a punch combination nicely.
Shot throws a right and a left that Rousey avoids nicely.
Shot tries to clinch up but Rousey circles away and keeps his distance.

Shot moves into the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rousey gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shot.
Shot lands a left hand.
Shot is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Shot wants to take the fight to the mat but Rousey manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that Dead Shot will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Rousey shoots in but Shot avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Shot looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shot is looking to clinch but Rousey is avoiding it.
Dead Shot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rousey takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Rousey looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Shot tries to clinch up but Rousey circles away and keeps his distance.

Shot fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rousey, pushing him back against the cage.
Rousey misses with a body punch.
Shot takes a knee to the side of the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rousey is working for takedown but Shot is calmly controlling the position for now.
Dead Shot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raymond Rousey.

Rousey pulls guard successfully.
Rousey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Shot knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rousey on the ground.

Rousey looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Shot is defending well. Rousey quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Shot has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Rousey celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
