PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Altair Brain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ratimir Yenin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brain kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 300 Violin. Yenin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Apocalyptica - Enter Sand Man kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Altair Brain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ratimir Yenin!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brain stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Yenin takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Brain uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Yenin has time to react.
Yenin tries for a takedown but Brain circles away easily
and Brain counters with a big head kick but Yenin shrugs it off.
Brain ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Brain misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yenin is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Yenin has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Yenin tries for a takedown but Brain circles away easily
and Brain connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Brain turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Brain lands a nice shot to the body.
Brain scores with a crisp jab that stopped Yenin in his tracks.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brain connects with a solid leg kick.
Brain is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Yenin dives in for a single leg takedown but Brain sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Altair Brain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ratimir Yenin.
A cross from Brain lands.
Yenin loads up on a big right hand but Brain slips the punch.
Brain moves into range and connects with a jab.
Brain dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Yenin. That did some damage!
Yenin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Brain thuds a left hand into Yenin's body.
Brain defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yenin.
Brain works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brain throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Yenin on the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brain throws a sloppy head kick and Yenin moves out of range easily.
Yenin is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Brain connects with a nice looking jab.
Brain is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Brain lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Yenin is rocked!
Brain moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Yenin is still on wobbly legs! Can Brain finish him?
Altair Brain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brain throws a right hand that Yenin ducks under and follows up with a left that Yenin also avoids with ease.
The fighters circle, before Brain throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Yenin's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Brain lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

During a confident post fight interview, Altair Brain thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
