Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steinn Berg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donatello Flaminio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steinn Berg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Donatello Flaminio!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berg uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Flaminio has time to react.
Flaminio with a poor takedown
and Flaminio takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Flaminio shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Berg manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Flaminio working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Flaminio sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Berg's guard.
Berg on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Flaminio thows a huge punch but Berg dodges it nicely.
Flaminio not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Flaminio is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Berg is looking to get to half guard.
Berg definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Flaminio breaks from Berg's wrist control and lands an elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Berg is in a horrible position here. Flaminio smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Flaminio should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Berg can't escape the position.
Berg on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Berg tries to get out of the position.

Flaminio lands a couple of good shots and Berg has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

My spies in THE GYM (20 Elite coaches on the Island !!!) inform me that Flaminio has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
What can Berg do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Flaminio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Flaminio is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Flaminio gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Flaminio gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Flaminio apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Steinn Berg is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Nice takedown defense from Berg. No joy for Flaminio on that attempt.
Steinn Berg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donatello Flaminio.
Flaminio shoots in looking for a takedown. Berg tries to sprawl out of it but Flaminio keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Berg manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Flaminio doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Berg connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Donatello Flaminio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Berg lands a big uppercut and Flaminio crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Flaminio looks OK. Berg waves Flaminio back to his feet!


Flaminio is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Berg drops Flaminio with a naaaaasty hook - Flaminio is in real trouble here! Berg dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steinn Berg!
