PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brick Shithouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cool Arnost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cool Arnost will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shithouse fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Arnost gets tackled into the cage by Shithouse. Shithouse maintains the clinch.
Arnost wants to get back to striking at distance but Shithouse won't allow it.
Shithouse stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Shithouse has Arnost pressed against the cage, preventing Arnost from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Arnost can't break the clinch.

Shithouse successfully pulls guard.
Arnost wants to control from the top but Shithouse keeps moving.

Shithouse is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shithouse pushes Arnost off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Shithouse throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Arnost's waist but Arnost gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shithouse off to one side.

Arnost shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Shithouse counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Cool Arnost has been cut.
Shithouse pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Arnost is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Arnost tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shithouse defends well and Arnost ends up having to push Shithouse into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Shithouse counters with a head kick that drops Arnost to the mat! Arnost scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Arnost stuffs the takedown attempt from Shithouse. Shithouse gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brick Shithouse. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown attempt by Arnost or perhaps it was just good defense by Shithouse, which made it look bad.
Arnost wants to clinch up but Shithouse keeps it at a distance.
Shithouse shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
As Shithouse backs off Arnost throws a huge counter combo but Shithouse manages to avoid it all.
Arnost closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shithouse circles away.

Shithouse lands a big head kick that sends Arnost tumbling to the mat! Shithouse takes a step backwards and waves Arnost back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Arnost is rocked!

Arnost tries to clinch up
and Shithouse counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Arnost is still on wobbly legs! Can Shithouse finish him?
Arnost looks winded!

Shithouse moves into the clinch successfully.

Shithouse manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Shithouse bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Arnost's guard.

Shithouse works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Arnost seems to have recovered his senses.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Shithouse is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Arnost!
Shithouse misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Shithouse wants to finish this one by submission but Arnost is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Shithouse.

Shithouse has hold of Arnost's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Arnost manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Shithouse takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arnost misses with a takedown attempt

Shithouse moves into the clinch.
Shithouse can't get the takedown.
Arnost trying to control the position but instead, Shithouse has worked for underhooks and has pushed Arnost into the cage.
Shithouse is leaning against Arnost and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Shithouse breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Shithouse is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Arnost presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Arnost is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Shithouse to keep the fight standing.

Shithouse gets control of Arnost's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shithouse will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Shithouse has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Arnost looking to sit in guard and control but Shithouse gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shithouse slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Arnost has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shithouse can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Shithouse fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Arnost is breathing heavily.

Shithouse is trying to drag Arnost to the mat but Arnost just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Arnost is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Shithouse stuffs the takedown attempt from Arnost. Arnost gets slowly back to his feet.
Brick Shithouse is winning the standup battle so far.
Shithouse changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Arnost tries to avoid it but Shithouse manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Arnost to the ground. Arnost escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Arnost shapes to counter with a head kick.
Arnost tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shithouse sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Arnost somewhat.

and Shithouse counters with a crisp one two that drops Arnost! Shithouse thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Arnost to his feet! Arnost is in big trouble!

and Shithouse scores with a counter punch that sends Arnost to the canvas! Shithouse smells blood - he's punishing Arnost with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Arnost has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
