Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Pae!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eerikki Kurki!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Kurki misses.
Pae throws a low kick but Kurki moves out of range easily.
Pae throws a head kick that misses.
Kurki looks to land a left hand but Pae moved out of range nicely.

Kurki manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Pae on his heels. He'll look to pass Pae's guard now, I'm sure.
Pae looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kurki is looking to work some ground and pound but Pae has wrist control.
Pae is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at The Coffee Shop that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Kurki tries to free his leg and advance position but Pae is retaining full guard.

Kurki drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kurki jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kurki works over Pae with some ground and pound from guard.
Pae not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pae working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kurki.
Kurki advances to half guard.
Pae is looking to escape.
Kurki missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kurki passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pae!
Pae regains half guard.
Kurki with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Kurki is looking to take a break and control but Pae is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kurki lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Pae has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kurki is working away from the top position though.
Pae slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Pae manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Kurki is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Pae to keep the fight standing.
Kurki fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kurki goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pae prevents it.
Joe Pae has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eerikki Kurki.

Kurki lands a takedown into guard.
Kurki chips away with some ground and pound.
Pae is trying to control the position but Kurki postures up.
Kurki with a nice head shot there.
Kurki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kurki passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kurki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eerikki Kurki dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kurki scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Kurki throws a nice looking combination but Pae bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kurki avoids the head kick by Pae.
Kurki uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pae.
Pae scores with a leg kick.
Kurki misses with a double jab.
Pae closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Eerikki Kurki has been cut.
Joe Pae seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kurki throws a jab when Pae was well out of range.

Pae pushes Kurki up against the cage in a clinch.
Pae tries to stall but Kurki uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Kurki is trying to pull guard but Pae has him pressed against the cage.
Pae lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Kurki jumps guard but Pae stands there with Kurki around his waist. Kurki gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kurki can't get the takedown.

Kurki jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pae walks away with a smile on his face. Kurki gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kurki has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Kurki rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Pae counters with a slapping leg kick.
Kurki misses with a hook. Pae ducked under it nicely.
Pae with a nice cross.


Kurki is rocked!
Pae drops Kurki with a big left hand! Kurki is injured, injured bad! Pae jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Pae!
During a confident post fight interview, Joe Pae thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
