Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Herman Mudgett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luka Janko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Janko is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Radical Businessman - Japanther. Luka Janko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Herman Mudgett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Luka Janko!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mudgett looks to throw the jab but Janko is out of range.
Mudgett misses with a double jab.
A punch combination from Mudgett misses.
Mudgett misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mudgett scores with a crisp jab that stopped Janko in his tracks.
Herman Mudgett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mudgett finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Mudgett throws a jab but it's blocked by Janko.
Mudgett throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Janko sees it coming and avoids it easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mudgett enables Janko to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mudgett manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Janko is standing up over Mudgett. Mudgett looks to escape but Janko dives into side control.

Mudgett is trying to buck Janko off.
My spies in Disciples Top Team inform me that Janko has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Janko scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Mudgett to see if he's OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mudgett throws Janko to one side and escapes!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Janko lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Janko throws a sloppy head kick and Mudgett moves out of range easily.

Janko closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mudgett's guard.
Janko is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Mudgett wants to stand but Janko is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mudgett has momentary wrist control but Janko slips an elbow through the middle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Janko controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Mudgett is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Janko is controlling him.
Janko with a flurry of punches that miss.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Some wild striking there from Mudgett.
Janko misses with a hook.
Janko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A slow jab from Mudgett misses its intended target.

Janko drives through with a takedown into Mudgett's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Mudgett wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Janko manages to pass to side control.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Janko in particular looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Janko lands strikes from half guard.
Mudgett looks like he's trying to stand up.
Janko is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Mudgett pushes Janko off looking to stand but Janko dives back in and keeps control.
Janko seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Mudgett has hold of Janko's hands but Janko slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Mudgett looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Janko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mudgett is trying to stand.

Janko thows a huge punch but Mudgett dodges it nicely.
Mudgett is staying active underneath Janko, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Janko uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mudgett.

and Mudgett counters with a lovely straight right hand!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Luka Janko will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Mudgett connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Mudgett on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Janko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mudgett circles away.
Janko defending well as Mudgett loads up on a big left hand.

Mudgett lands a big right hand that sends Janko crashing to the mat! Mudgett stays standing though and waves Janko back to his feet!


Janko is rocked!
Mudgett is stalking Janko. Janko circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Mudgett, and it's lights out! Janko really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Herman Mudgett!
During a confident post fight interview, Herman Mudgett thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
