Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kicky McLegs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Teixeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kicky McLegs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Teixeira!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLegs with a nice cross.
McLegs throws a hook but Teixeira avoids it easily.
A swing and a miss from McLegs.
Teixeira displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McLegs throws out the jab.
Jab, jab by McLegs - just one landing.
Kicky McLegs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McLegs defending well as Teixeira loads up on a big left hand.
Teixeira looks to land a left hand but McLegs moved out of range nicely.
McLegs looks to land a combination but Teixeira avoids it well.
McLegs misses with a straight right.
Teixeira just misses with a punch to the body.
McLegs pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Teixeira moves away from the strike by McLegs.
McLegs's jab looks to have found its range, popping Teixeira under the eye.
Teixeira loads up on a big right hand but McLegs slips the punch.
Teixeira moves out of range as McLegs strikes.
Teixeira bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Teixeira throws a shot to the body.
Teixeira uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McLegs.
Teixeira throws a series of strikes that have McLegs backpedaling.


It looks like Kicky McLegs has been cut.
McLegs misses with an uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Teixeira keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from McLegs.
McLegs closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Teixeira listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
McLegs swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Teixeira avoids the body shot from McLegs.
Teixeira tests McLegs's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Teixeira misses with a straight left.
McLegs is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Teixeira ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
McLegs dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Teixeira throws out a loose jab but McLegs uses good head movement to avoid it.
McLegs misses with an uppercut. Teixeira saw that one coming.
Teixeira tests McLegs's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Teixeira fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McLegs manages to avoid it.
Teixeira takes a shot to the body in his stride.
McLegs looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Teixeira looks to land a right hand but McLegs moved out of range.
McLegs misses with a straight left.

Teixeira drives through with a takedown into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McLegs preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Teixeira controls from within his opponent's guard.
McLegs is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Teixeira showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
It looks like Teixeira might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
McLegs on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McLegs tries to get out of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Teixeira is pushing down on McLegs's leg trying to pass to half guard. McLegs is fighting to maintain full guard but Teixeira has managed to sneak the leg through.

Teixeira is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Teixeira looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
McLegs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Teixeira on the ground.
McLegs is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Teixeira in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. McLegs tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Teixeira!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Paul Teixeira!
After winning the bout, Paul Teixeira thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
