Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arnie Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Arnie Armstrong!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobby Turner!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Turner tries to bum rush Armstrong with a series of wild strikes but Armstrong uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A jab lands there for Armstrong.
Armstrong takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Armstrong thumps Turner with a low kick.
Armstrong uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Turner.
Turner cracks Armstrong with a good jab.
Turner dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Turner uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Armstrong.
Armstrong tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Turner paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Armstrong throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Armstrong lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Armstrong paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A big left from Armstrong misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Armstrong. Turner does a little dance to reset his feet.
Turner throws out a counter right but Armstrong avoids it with no problem.

Armstrong just misses with a punch to the body.

Armstrong misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick misses from Armstrong.
Armstrong jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Turner swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Turner avoids a kick to the body.
Turner uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Armstrong.
Armstrong stuffs the takedown.
Turner scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Armstrong doesn't seem bothered though.
Armstrong feints and then cracks Turner's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Turner down.
Armstrong looks for the body kick but Turner saw that one coming.
Turner looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Turner misses with a lunging right hand
and Turner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Armstrong is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Armstrong keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Turner.

Armstrong takes one on the button.


It looks like Arnie Armstrong has been cut.
Armstrong throws a jab when Turner was well out of range.
Turner looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Armstrong throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A jab from Turner finds it's way through Armstrong's defenses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Armstrong throws a hook to the side of Turner's head but Turner sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Armstrong misses with an attempted mid kick.
Armstrong throws a looping overhand right but Turner ducks down to avoid it.
Armstrong connects with a leg kick. Turner looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Arnie Armstrong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Armstrong throws a body punch but Turner moves out of range.
It seemed like Turner was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Armstrong rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Turner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Armstrong misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Turner.
Armstrong connects with a body shot.
Armstrong tries to clinch but Turner moves away
letting Turner counter with a right hand.

Turner throws a hook to the side of Armstrong's head but Armstrong sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Turner has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Armstrong finds it's way round the side to connect with Turner's head.
Armstrong punishes Turner's body with a nice straight punch.
Turner slips a jab from Armstrong.
Armstrong is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Turner throws a predictable looking body shot
and Armstrong counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Turner bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Turner appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Armstrong swings for the body but Turner moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Armstrong. Turner does a little dance to reset his feet.
Turner stuns Armstrong with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Turner keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Armstrong.
Turner is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Armstrong.
Armstrong lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Turner scores with a punch to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Turner and Armstrong goes tumbling to the canvas! Turner follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.


Armstrong is rocked!


Arnie Armstrong's cut is getting worse.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Turner trying to control the pace.
Oh Armstrong is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Turner lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Armstrong quite badly. Armstrong pulls Turner in close trying to recover. Turner postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Armstrong on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Armstrong doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobby Turner!
Bobby Turner is the new super heavyweight champion!
An out of breath Bobby Turner thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
