Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sola Romaneiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kimo Ovaska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Romaneiro's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Guns of Brixton - The Clash. Ovaska has chosen Big Balls by AC/DC as his entrance music. Sola Romaneiro had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sola Romaneiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kimo Ovaska!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romaneiro displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ovaska throws out the jab.

A punch lands to the side of Ovaska 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Romaneiro motions for Ovaska to come forward. Romaneiro throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ovaska is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Romaneiro with a body shot.
Romaneiro walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ovaska checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

It looks like Sola Romaneiro has been cut.
Ovaska throws a shot from downtown. Romaneiro moves away and avoids it.

Ovaska seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Romaneiro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That was a close round but I would say that Sola Romaneiro will probably get the nod.

Ovaska stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

and Ovaska counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Romaneiro thinking.

Ovaska is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ovaska might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Romaneiro haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Romaneiro wants to advance to full mount but Ovaska doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Romaneiro feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Romaneiro throws a strike but Ovaska rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Ovaska trying to control the position from guard on top but Romaneiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ovaska slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
