Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buster Marks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Gypsy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Gypsy will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Buster Marks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carlos Gypsy!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gypsy throws a sloppy head kick and Marks moves out of range easily.

and Marks counters by clinching up.
Marks jumps guard but Gypsy stands there with Marks around his waist. Marks gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Gypsy is trying to trip Marks. He has hold of a leg but Marks is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gypsy persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gypsy trying to control the position from guard on top but Marks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gypsy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Marks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gypsy has managed to get both his arms back between Marks's legs - danger averted.

Marks looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gypsy has picked Marks up and slammed him! Marks can't keep hold of the triangle and Gypsy manages to pass to side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gypsy throwing strikes but Marks manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Gypsy tries to buck Marks off but Marks is having none of it.
Gypsy is trying to control Marks's posture but Marks avoids it.
Marks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Gypsy tries to escape but Marks is in control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gypsy can do anything to dispel that myth.
You can see the frustration on Gypsy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Marks is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gypsy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Gypsy is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Marks looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gypsy is looking for a sweep.
Gypsy can't do much from the bottom here.
Gypsy manages to get back to half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gypsy wants to improve his position but Marks is controlling well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Gypsy misses with a wild combination.
Marks attempts a counter takedown but Gypsy avoids it well and moves away.

Gypsy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Marks wants to improve his position but Gypsy is controlling well.

Marks looking for submissions off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gypsy is keen to just control but Marks is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gypsy is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Marks's half guard.
Gypsy stalling away here and it's allowed Marks to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Gypsy tries to free his leg and advance position but Marks is retaining full guard.
Gypsy throws a big elbow that misses.

Gypsy wants to pass the guard but Marks is keeping the position.
Gypsy is looking to stand up but Marks won't let him.

Gypsy forces his way into half guard.
Gypsy wants to take a breather but Marks is having none of it.
Marks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Marks is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gypsy thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Gypsy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gypsy trying to control but Marks is having none of it.

Marks holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Gypsy tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Gypsy wants to control the pace but Marks is squirming around nicely.
Marks looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gypsy misses with punches from the back.
Gypsy has the hooks in. Marks is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Gypsy has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Gypsy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Gypsy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marks was covering up waiting for the punch and Gypsy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gypsy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marks swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gypsy looking to sit in guard and control but Marks gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marks lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gypsy is looking for a triangle here but Marks uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Gypsy can't do much from the bottom here.

Marks tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marks has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Gypsy is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Marks asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gypsy sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Gypsy wants to control but Marks is keeping busy.
Gypsy tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Marks has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Gypsy is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gypsy tries to improve his position but instead Marks has taken his back!

Gypsy tries to escape but Marks has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Marks looking to break Gypsy's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Gypsy remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Marks will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Carlos Gypsy decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
