Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Honeycutt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Petey Flowers!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Flowers drives through with a takedown into guard.

Flowers drops back, looking for a kneebar! Honeycutt looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Honeycutt looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Honeycutt!
Flowers tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Honeycutt wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Honeycutt trying to control the position but Flowers is working away.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flowers regains half guard, as Honeycutt was trying to land strikes.
Flowers is trying is best to control the position here.
Honeycutt is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Flowers tries to hold on but Honeycutt postures up.
Honeycutt trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Honeycutt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Flowers manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Flowers slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Flowers keeping moving, preventing Honeycutt from controlling successfully.
Flowers is adopting a defensive guard.
Honeycutt postures up in Flowers's guard and throws a big left but Flowers blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Flowers wants to sweep here but Honeycutt controlling him for the moment.
Flowers keeping moving, preventing Honeycutt from controlling successfully.

Honeycutt thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Flowers pulls Honeycutt in close to his closed guard and prevents Honeycutt from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Honeycutt stopping the sweep attempt from Flowers.
Honeycutt throws a big elbow that misses.

Honeycutt working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Flowers is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Honeycutt rolls with it to try and escape but Flowers cranks on the arm and Honeycutt is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
