The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Way tries for a takedown but Franklin circles away easily

and Franklin moves into the clinch.
Way drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Franklin gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Franklin is working for takedown but Way is calmly controlling the position for now.

Franklin has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Way regains guard immediately.
Franklin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Franklin cracks Way with a solid left hand.
Franklin really is a fat lump.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Way wants to stand and escape but Franklin is having none of it.
Franklin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Franklin throws a strike but Way rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Franklin will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Way stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Franklin has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Way manages to get his head free but now Franklin has transitioned to an armbar! Way grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Franklin! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
