Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tatton Chantry!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chantry looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Modigh on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Chantry is nestled in close to Modigh, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Modigh has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Modigh wants to improve his position but Chantry is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Modigh is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Chantry pulls his head out easily.
Chantry is thwarting Modigh's attempts to control the position.
Chantry has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Modigh is looking for a sweep. Chantry is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Chantry is trying to control. Modigh wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chantry wants to pass to mount but Modigh is defending the position.

Modigh looking for submissions off his back.
Modigh has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chantry is working away from the top position though.
Modigh is not content to let Chantry control the position.
Chantry takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Chantry is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Chantry with the ground and pound but Modigh uses the opportunity to regain guard.
My spies in Montreal Fighter's Gym (4.5* Sparring) inform me that Chantry has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Modigh has his foot on Chantry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chantry works his way back into a safe position though.
Chantry passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Modigh is trying to improve his position.

Modigh is working to avoid the ground and pound but Chantry connects with a decent elbow.
Modigh tries to buck Chantry off but Chantry is having none of it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Chantry has an Americana. Modigh didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Chantry is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Chantry hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
