The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero tries a head kick but it misses.
Halverson with the counter takedown but Romero avoids it easily.
Halverson shoots in but Romero avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Halverson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Romero's waist but Romero gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Halverson off to one side.

Halverson gets a double leg takedown into Romero's guard.
Halverson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Romero manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Halverson manages to get himself to full guard.
