Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brenden Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leopold Stotch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stotch has chosen boom baby as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brenden Abbott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leopold Stotch!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Stotch checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Abbott closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Abbott lands in his opponent's guard.

Stotch is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Abbott defends well.
Abbott postures up and lands a big shot to Stotch's brow.
Abbott makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stotch managing to control the position.
Abbott throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stotch works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Abbott missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Abbott avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stotch pulls Abbott in close to prevent any damage.
Stotch keeping moving, preventing Abbott from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abbott looking to pass the guard.
Abbott wants to control from the top but Stotch keeps moving.
Stotch is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Stotch is looking for a kimura here.
Abbott gets full guard.
Abbott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Abbott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Stotch trying to control but Abbott is working from the bottom.
Abbott is trying to keep Stotch in close.
Stotch wants to control from the top but Abbott keeps moving.

Abbott wants to sweep here but Stotch controlling him for the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Abbott is on top in guard.

Stotch looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Stotch had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Abbott defends it easily.

Stotch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Abbott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Abbott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Abbott got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stotch has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Abbott has managed to get both his arms back between Stotch's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Abbott's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Abbott throws a wild body kick that Stotch sees coming a mile off.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Stotch enables Abbott to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stotch manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abbott is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Abbott is looking to advance position but Stotch has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Stotch tries to control but Abbott wriggling away.

Stotch is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Abbott has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Abbott!

Abbott passes easily into side control. Nice work.
An elbow from Abbott crashes against the mat.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Abbott cracks Stotch with a big elbow.
You can see the frustration on Stotch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Abbott is chipping away with strikes.
Stotch manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Abbott is staying active underneath Stotch, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Abbott is looking to improve his position.
Abbott is working hard here to advance position.

Abbott is trying to control but can't.

Stotch is trying to work for a kimura but Abbott is defending well.

Abbott is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Stotch has latched onto it... Big trouble! Stotch pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Abbott is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Stotch!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Leopold Stotch!
