Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrew Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson closes the distance and clinches.
Johnson tries to land knees in the clinch but Howell avoids the damage to the body.
Howell tries to circle away but Johnson has him pinned against the cage.

Johnson jumps into guard, dragging Howell to the mat.
Johnson is trying to control the position but Howell postures up.
Howell won't allow Johnson to get back to his feet.
Howell's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Howell is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Johnson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Howell keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Howell tries to stand but can't do so whilst Johnson controls his leg.

Johnson is striking off his back. Howell thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Johnson is not content to let Howell control the position.

Johnson wants to control but Howell is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Andrew Johnson will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Johnson darts in and clinches Howell up against the cage.

Johnson wants to pass the guard but Howell is keeping the position.
Bertram Howell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Johnson gets to his feet - Howell follows without any prompting.
Horrible takedown attempt by Howell or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson, which made it look bad.
Howell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bertram Howell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Howell.
Howell shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Johnson has managed to clinch.
Howell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Johnson to keep the fight standing.
Howell tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Johnson avoids it.
Johnson lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Howell jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Howell around his waist. Howell gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Howell has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Howell jumps guard but Johnson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Howell tries to break the clinch but Johnson is controlling the position.

Johnson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Johnson gets a takedown into half guard.
Johnson content to control rather than advance.
Johnson wants to take a breather but Howell is having none of it.
Johnson slows the pace down in half guard.
Johnson uses his free foot to push down on Howell's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Howell.

Johnson get's back to his feet.
Johnson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Johnson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Howell!

Johnson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Howell to his feet.

Johnson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Howell's half guard.

Johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Howell makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Howell.

Andrew Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
