The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferdum blocks a jab.
Ferdum stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like James Pearson has been cut.
Ferdum has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Ferdum throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pearson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pearson is looking to counter punch.
Ferdum is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Pearson misses with an uppercut. Ferdum saw that one coming.
Pearson looks to land a right hand but Ferdum moved out of range.
Pearson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ferdum.
Ferdum shoots in and drives through. Pearson sprawls well.
Ferdum tries a head kick but it misses.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ferdum throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pearson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ferdum swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pearson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ferdum uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pearson.
Ferdum throws a series of punches but Pearson avoids them all with ease.

Ferdum has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ferdum there as he acknowledges the shot.

Pearson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Ferdum postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
