The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burris avoids a punch combination nicely.
Burris looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Ken swinging wildly here.
Ken misses with a series of wild punches.
Ken tries to clinch but Burris is having none of it.
Burris wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Burris could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ken is trying to force a seperation but Burris has the dominant position.

Burris is trying to pull guard but Ken turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Ken is looking to break free of the clinch but Burris has double underhooks.
Ken blocks the elbow strike.
Ken lands a shoulder strike.
Ken gets underhooks to prevent Burris's takedown attempt.
Ken's coach down at Cozad MMA St Petersburg was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ken's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Burris wants to take the fight to the mat but Ken manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pierre Burris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
With the fighters up against the cage, Burris throws an elbow but misses.

Ken throws a nice looking combination but Burris bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hi Ken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ken cracks Burris with a good jab.
Burris is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Ken just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Burris has gone limp and this one is over!
