PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between All or Nothing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magnus Englund (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nothing comes into the arena with Vegan Reich - The Way It Is blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Magnus Englund was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 55 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, All or Nothing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Magnus Englund!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nothing just misses with a punch to the body.
Englund wants to counter with a clinch but Nothing pushes him away.
A swing and a miss from Nothing.
Nothing misses the jab.

Englund has taken the fight to the clinch.

Nothing jumps into guard, dragging Englund to the mat.

Englund postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nothing is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Englund, into his guard.

Nothing really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nothing is stalling in the full guard.
Nothing has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Englund trying to control the position.
Nothing slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Englund is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nothing is controlling him.
Englund manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nothing manages to get himself to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Englund in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Englund has gone for a leg lock! Nothing slips out almost immediately though and dives into Englund's guard.

Nothing slips nicely into half guard.
Englund is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nothing wants to pass to mount but Englund is defending the position.

Nothing trying to control the pace.
Englund is trying to control but Nothing passes into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
We've been informed that Englund has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Englund is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Englund trying to control but Nothing postures up.
Englund is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Englund has his hands on Nothing's head, controlling the position.

Englund is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Nothing might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Englund escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nothing gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

All or Nothing dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Englund fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nothing sprawls well initially but Englund persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Englund trying to work for an americana but Nothing has managed to regain full guard.
Nothing looking to hit a scissor sweep but Englund is one step ahead there.

Englund drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Nothing dives on top into guard.

Englund is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Englund has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nothing can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Englund is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Englund looking for submissions off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nothing is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Nothing is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Englund can do to turn this around?
Nothing seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Englund for as long as he can get away with.
Nothing passes to full mount!
Englund tries to control Nothing's body but Nothing pushes him off. Englund squirms to his side and now Nothing has his back!
All or Nothing overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nothing has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Englund's body.

Nothing keeps control of the position as Englund tries to break free.
Nothing really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Englund.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Englund is in bad spot here.
Englund is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Nothing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Englund is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Nothing asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Englund can't do much from the bottom here.
Nothing takes a little break here. Englund wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nothing gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Nothing manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Englund manages to get himself to full guard.

Englund controls Nothing momentarily but Nothing frees himself.
Magnus Englund has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Englund looking to control but Nothing passes into half guard.

Nothing moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Englund.
Englund takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nothing is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Englund will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Englund tries to get back to half guard but can't.
All or Nothing is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Nothing working away.

Englund might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nothing haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

All or Nothing showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Nothing has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
