The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bates gets the takedown into side control.
Quinn stops Bates from passing to mount.
Quinn dodges the ground and pound from Bates.
Bates has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bates tries to move to mount but Quinn blocks the move with his legs.
Quinn is trying to control Bates's posture but Bates avoids it.
Quinn takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bates throws an elbow but Quinn slips to the side and avoids it well.
Bates creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Quinn sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Quinn prevents Bates from moving into mount.
Quinn trying to control but Bates flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Bates punches the canvas rather than the man.
Quinn looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Will Bates go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Bates is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Quinn won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Bates off his unconscious opponent!
