The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laranja checks the leg kick.
Arnold connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Laranja is trying hard to land a takedown here. Arnold sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Arnold tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Laranja was well out of range. Poor timing from Arnold.

Laranja half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Arnold loads up on a big right hand but Laranja slips the punch.
Arnold throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Laranja throws out a leg kick but Arnold moves out of range and Laranja only half commits.
And Arnold responds with a good body kick, but Laranja manages to step out the way in time.

Laranja seems to be working for a kimura but Arnold defends the submission attempt.

Laranja is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Laranja is trying to control. Arnold wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Laranja jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Arnold is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Arnold and Laranja has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Arnold really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Laranja. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Laranja goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Arnold has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Laranja but great work by Arnold.
