Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Gypsy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Santoyo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santoyo has chosen Roots Bloody Roots as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carlos Gypsy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Santoyo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gypsy misses with a two punch combination.
Gypsy fails with a takedown attempt.
Santoyo throws a nice looking combination but Gypsy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Santoyo avoids the head kick by Gypsy.
Santoyo slaps away a takedown attempt from Gypsy, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Santoyo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gypsy closes the distance and pushes Santoyo back into the cage.

Santoyo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gypsy pulls his leg out and moves away.

Santoyo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gypsy is fending him off so far but Santoyo persists. Nope, Gypsy circles away and we're back to standing.
Gypsy tries a head kick but it misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Santoyo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gypsy closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Santoyo's guard.
Gypsy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santoyo on the ground.
Gypsy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Santoyo trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Santoyo wants to stand and escape but Gypsy is having none of it.
Gypsy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gypsy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Santoyo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gypsy working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gypsy stands up from Santoyo's guard - Gypsy perhaps looking for a knockout.

Santoyo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gypsy but Gypsy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gypsy half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Carlos Gypsy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruno Santoyo.
Santoyo throws a low kick but Gypsy avoids it.

Gypsy is standing up over Santoyo. Santoyo looks to escape but Gypsy dives into side control.

Gypsy looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gypsy controls the position.
Gypsy wants to control but Santoyo is keeping him busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Gypsy dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Santoyo tries to clinch there but Gypsy circles away.
Gypsy is looking for a counter combo.
Santoyo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Gypsy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Santoyo quickly recovers to half guard.

Gypsy is working for a kimura but Santoyo is defending it quite comfortably.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Santoyo is concentrating on defense, preventing Gypsy from advancing position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santoyo is breathing heavily.
Gypsy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Gypsy's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Gypsy has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Santoyo is trying to break the clinch but Gypsy is controlling him.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Santoyo blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Gypsy has hold of one of Santoyo's legs. Santoyo is fighting the takedown attempt but Gypsy gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Santoyo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Gypsy feints and as Santoyo raises his hands in defense, Gypsy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gypsy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gypsy stays in close to Santoyo's body and controls the position.
Carlos Gypsy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gypsy trying to stand up but can't free himself from Santoyo's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gypsy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Gypsy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Santoyo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gypsy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Santoyo lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Santoyo is looking to control Gypsy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Santoyo avoid being mounted?

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Gypsy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gypsy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Gypsy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Santoyo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Santoyo can't do much from the bottom here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Santoyo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Gypsy is controlling him well.
Gypsy scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Santoyo to see if he's OK.

Gypsy decides to stand back up. Gypsy steps back and let's Santoyo get back to his feet.

Santoyo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Carlos Gypsy showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Gypsy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
