The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raginis throws a hook to the side of Shephard's head but Shephard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Raginis misses with an uppercut.
Shephard swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shephard throws a series of punches but Raginis avoids them all with ease.
Raginis feinted with a counter takedown.
Raginis finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Raginis avoids the body shot from Shephard.
Raginis is looking to counter punch.
Shephard looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Raginis gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

It looks like Wladyslaw Raginis has been cut.
Shephard avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sloppy strikes from Shephard. Those never looked like landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shephard smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Shephard stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shephard wants it to stay on the feet.
Raginis cracks Shephard with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Raginis connects with a crisp jab.

Raginis walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Raginis moves into the clinch.
Raginis lands with a short shot to the head.
Shephard changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Raginis fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Shephard loads up on a big right hand but Raginis slips the punch.
Raginis tries to move into range but Shephard moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Raginis walks into a jab.
Raginis tries to clinch up.
Shephard throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Raginis.

Shephard scores with the left hand. Raginis knows he should have avoided that one.

Wladyslaw Raginis's cut is getting worse.

Raginis forces Shephard back against the cage and clinches.
Raginis tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Shephard's elbow.
Shephard is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Raginis is defending well.
Shephard is trying to drag Raginis to the mat but Raginis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Wladyslaw Raginis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Shephard.

Raginis breaks from the clinch.
Shephard stalks Raginis and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Raginis's face. Raginis staggers backwards, shaken.
Raginis takes a swing at Shephard's ribcage but misses.
Raginis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shephard paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've been told by Raginis's head coaches at St Petersburg MMA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Shephard throws a looping overhand right but Raginis ducks down to avoid it.

and Shephard counters with a big uppercut that knocks Raginis off his feet! Shephard dives into side control looking to finish!

Raginis is rocked!
Shephard scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Raginis is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Shephard can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
