Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fred Alsop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alsop as he jumps to the side.
Kimura takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Alsop, as that shot connected.
Kimura blocks a head kick by Alsop.
Alsop throws a wild body kick that Kimura sees coming a mile off.
Kimura throws out a counter right but Alsop avoids it with no problem.
Alsop definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kimura tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Alsop is able to avoid easily.
Kimura throws a looping overhand right but Alsop ducks down to avoid it.
Kimura throws a lazy uppercut
and Alsop counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kimura takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Fred Alsop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kimura on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Kimura is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Alsop is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Alsop throws a head kick that half lands.
Alsop throws a body punch but Kimura moves out of range.
Alsop ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Alsop pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Alsop moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Alsop fails in his attempt to clinch.
Alsop displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kimura.
Alsop cracks Kimura with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Kimura ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alsop moves away.
Left hook, right uppercut from Alsop.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alsop tries to move into range but Kimura moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alsop keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kimura.
Kimura scores with a jab to the body.
Alsop throws a lazy body kick
so Kimura counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Alsop has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Kimura should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Alsop has tightened it up now! Kimura should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Fred Alsop was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
