Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roger Cantor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Virgil Dreesen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roger Cantor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Virgil Dreesen!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Columbo Gatti and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cantor jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Cantor will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Dreesen lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Cantor closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dreesen circles away.
Dreesen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Cantor lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dreesen's sensitive parts.
We've been hearing reports that Cantor has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Cantor scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dreesen doesn't seem bothered though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Cantor throws a strike but Dreesen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Virgil Dreesen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cantor tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dreesen defends well and Cantor ends up having to push Dreesen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Cantor doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Dreesen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Cantor takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Dreesen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cantor can pounce on him.
Dreesen feints a jab promting Cantor to slip. Dreesen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cantor slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Cantor misses with a takedown attempt - Dreesen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Cantor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dreesen avoids it really well and circles away.

Cantor throws a body punch but Dreesen moves out of range.
Dreesen plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Dreesen connects with a crisp jab.
Dreesen moves into range and connects with a jab.
Cantor throws a head kick that Dreesen semi-blocks.
Good leg kick by Dreesen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Cantor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dreesen's waist but Dreesen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cantor off to one side.
Cantor is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dreesen.
Cantor throws a solid leg kick but Dreesen takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Cantor.
It seemed like Dreesen was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Dreesen tries to land a front kick but Cantor steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Dreesen lunges at Cantor with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Cantor's hand.
Dreesen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Cantor takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cantor tries to bum rush Dreesen with a series of wild strikes but Dreesen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dreesen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cantor. That did some damage!
Cantor works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Cantor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dreesen lands a leg kick that knocks Cantor off balance momentarily.
A head kick from Dreesen lands but Cantor takes it in his stride.

Dreesen slaps away a takedown attempt from Cantor, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Cantor lands a head kick. Dreesen smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Cantor walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Dreesen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Cantor closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Cantor throws a shot from downtown. Dreesen moves away and avoids it.
Dreesen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Cantor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dreesen pinned against the cage. Dreesen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Dreesen counters with an inside leg kick.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Dreesen! But no joy.

Dreesen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cantor is working away from the top position though.

I've got Dreesen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
