The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marquis slips a jab and a cross from Turtell.
Turtell throws a series of punches but Marquis moves out of range.
Good exchange - Turtell coming out on top.

It looks like Dominic Marquis has been cut.
Turtell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Marquis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Turtell misses with a two punch combination.
Marquis avoids the head kick by Turtell.
Donatello Turtell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marquis blocks a low kick nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Turtell stuffs the takedown attempt from Marquis. Marquis gets slowly back to his feet.
Turtell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Marquis shoots in but Turtell avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dominic Marquis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Turtell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Marquis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Marquis slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Turtell is not content to let Marquis control the position.

Marquis wants to control but Turtell is keeping him busy.

Marquis is working to tighten his grip on Turtell's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Turtell has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Marquis is really squeezing tight and eventually Turtell passes out! Marquis breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
