PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stacee Jaxee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lima comes to the cage accompanied by DMX - Ain't no sunshine. Jaxee is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Pour Some Sugar on Me by Stacee Jaxx. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Douglas Lima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stacee Jaxee!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Jaxee misses.
Jaxee looks to score with a jab to the body but Lima is just out of range.
Lima fails to land with a series of punches.
Lima scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Lima feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A nice inside leg kick there by Lima. That's going to slow Jaxee down.
Jaxee's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lima under the eye.
Lima is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jaxee can do to turn this around?

Lima throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jaxee tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lima is in Jaxee's guard.

Lima working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jaxee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jaxee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lima is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jaxee content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Lima has locked up a guillotine! Lima's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Jaxee is holding on here and Lima must be using up a lot of energy. Jaxee has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Lima gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

In his post fight interview, Douglas Lima started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
