Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Max Barathian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franco Murphy Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen perfect enemies as his entrance music. Franco Murphy Johnson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Barathian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Franco Murphy Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barathian lands with a good body shot.
Barathian fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Johnson moves into the clinch.
Barathian tries to break the clinch but Johnson is controlling the position.
Johnson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Barathian's efforts to push away.
Barathian wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Barathian breaks from the clinch.
Barathian throws a series of strikes that have Johnson backpedaling.
Johnson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Johnson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Johnson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Barathian defends it well.
Some wild striking there from Barathian.
Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Barathian misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Johnson.
Barathian will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Johnson has managed to clinch.

Barathian's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A left and a right from Barathian both land. Nice combination.
Barathian cracks a nice hook into Johnson's ribs.
Barathian moves out of range of the strikes.
No joy there for Barathian, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Johnson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Barathian is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Johnson is controlling him well.
Johnson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Barathian is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it.
Johnson tries to advance to mount but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Barathian is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Johnson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Barathian knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Johnson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Barathian connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Johnson momentarily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson has a takedown stuffed.
Barathian went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Barathian scores with a jab.


Johnson is rocked!
Barathian throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A little jabbing left from Johnson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Barathian misses the shot to the body.
Barathian stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Barathian finish him?
Barathian throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Barathian throws a nice looking combination but Johnson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Johnson seems to have recovered his senses.
Barathian scores with a hook.
and Barathian counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Johnson! He's just covering up as Barathian starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Max Barathian!
