Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Christoper Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Red Tama!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Tama.
Reed is trying to control Tama's posture but Tama avoids it.
Reed manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tama's best efforts.
Tama is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Reed regains full guard. Nicely done.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tama wants to get up but he can't break Reed's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Reed is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Reed lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Tama wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tama looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Reed has picked Tama up and slammed him! Tama can't keep hold of the triangle and Reed manages to pass to side control!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tama can do anything to dispel that myth.

Reed throwing strikes here but Tama is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Reed is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tama to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tama shrugs it off.

It looks like Red Tama has been cut.

Reed has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Reed seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Tama is holding on tight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Reed wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

That's time! Reed's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Tama darts in and clinches Reed up against the cage.
Tama is trying to push Reed away but Reed has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Tama works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Reed wants to sweep but no luck.
Tama trying to control the position from guard on top but Reed is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tama is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reed tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Tama stops Reed from standing up.
Tama lands a couple of digs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tama stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reed swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Reed kicks Tama off and gets to his feet.
Reed looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tama fails in his attempt to clinch.
Reed throws a big counter combination but Tama scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Reed rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tama moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tama looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Reed changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tama tries to avoid it but Reed manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tama to the ground. Tama escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And Tama responds with a good body kick, but Reed manages to step out the way in time.

Tama shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tama is nestled in close to Reed, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Reed is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tama's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tama's back!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tama wants to escape the position.
Tama wants to get back to his feet.
Even with his hooks in, Reed manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Tama really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tama covering up well and avoiding damage.

Tama might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Reed haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Tama is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Christoper Reed overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tama just trying to survive but Reed is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Reed is looking for the choke from the back position but Tama is controlling his hands well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tama changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reed looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Reed is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tama off and has taken his back!

Reed is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tama can do to turn this around?

Tama is trying to get to his feet but he's left his neck exposed and Reed manages to sink in a rear naked choke! Great counter grappling by Reed!
