Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Evan Better (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ash Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Better comes into the arena with Mother by Danzig blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ash Thomas was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evan Better!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ash Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Better paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A right-left combo lands from Better.
Thomas looks to land a body kick but Better moved away.
Better scores with a punch to the head.
A cross from Better lands.
Better looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Thomas lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Better lands the left hand.
Better fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thomas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Better tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Thomas defends well and Better ends up having to push Thomas into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Better throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ash Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Thomas throws the left hand but Better avoids the punch easily.

Better throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Better is in Thomas's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thomas can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Thomas crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Better - the referee stops the clock and Thomas gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Better. Thomas manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Thomas needs to keep his hands up - Better had a free shot at his head there.
Better with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Better feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
