PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Rino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Conlon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Henry Rino has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Rino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Conlon!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conlon takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Rino cracks Conlon with a right hand to the side of the head.
Conlon shoots in but Rino avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rino tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Conlon was well out of range. Poor timing from Rino.
Conlon drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rino defends it well.

Conlon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Rino tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Conlon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Conlon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Conlon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Rino is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Conlon has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Rino got a little sloppy there for a moment and Conlon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rino has managed to get both his arms back between Conlon's legs - danger averted.

Conlon's coach down at Black Hand Vegas was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Conlon's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
