Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vito Emerson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clinton Arnold!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Emerson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Arnold defends well and Emerson ends up having to push Arnold into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Arnold tries to keep at a distance but Emerson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Emerson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Arnold gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Emerson successfully pulls guard.
Arnold wants to pass the guard but Emerson is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Arnold postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Emerson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Arnold, into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Arnold has his foot on Emerson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Emerson works his way back into a safe position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arnold wants to stand and escape but Emerson is having none of it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Emerson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Arnold isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Emerson stacks Arnold on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Emerson!
Arnold is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Emerson tries to score with some ground and pound. Arnold controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Emerson throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Emerson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The fight stays on the outside here - Emerson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
As Emerson backs off Arnold throws a huge counter combo but Emerson manages to avoid it all.
Emerson misses with a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Arnold moves away from the strike by Emerson.

Emerson moves into the clinch.

Arnold wants the takedown. Emerson is fighting it off but Arnold persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Emerson's guard against the cage.

Emerson pushes Arnold off and scrambles back to his feet.
Emerson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Emerson wants to clinch up but Arnold keeps it at a distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Emerson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Arnold is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Emerson misses with a leg kick
and Arnold counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Emerson closes the distance looking to clinch
and Arnold counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Emerson badly! Arnold follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Emerson out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Arnold finished him against the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Clinton Arnold!
During a confident post fight interview, Clinton Arnold thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
