PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Judo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Judo comes to the cage accompanied by Da Mystery of Chessboxin by Wu-Tang Clan. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Alex Vargas enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Judo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alex Vargas!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Judo shoots in for a takedown but Vargas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Judo takes a swing at Vargas's ribcage but misses.
Vargas buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Judo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Vargas dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Judo. That did some damage!
Vargas misses with a low kick.
Judo drops down looking for a counter takedown but Vargas sprawls and moves away.
Vargas turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Judo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vargas tries to avoid it but Judo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vargas to the ground. Vargas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vargas connects with a nice looking jab.
Judo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Judo half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Judo shoots in for a takedown but Vargas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Judo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vargas's corner calls for a 1-2. Vargas obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Vargas throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Judo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Vargas to the mat! Vargas manages to get full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Judo throwing strikes from guard but Vargas blocks nicely.

Judo throws a big elbow that misses.
Judo distracts Vargas with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Vargas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Judo is looking to work some ground and pound but Vargas has wrist control.

Vargas looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Judo has picked Vargas up and slammed him! Vargas can't keep hold of the triangle and Judo manages to pass to side control!

Vargas is looking for a sweep.
Vargas avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Judo.

Judo tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Judo trying to control the action but Vargas is working from the bottom.

Judo is trying to get an arm triangle but Vargas is defending well.
Judo throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Judo misses with the ground and pound.
Vargas is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Judo slows the pace down.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vargas tries to bench press Judo off him but Judo keeps the position.
An elbow from Judo crashes against the mat.
Vargas takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Judo working the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vargas regains half guard, as Judo was trying to land strikes.
Judo not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Judo lands strikes from half guard.

Judo maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Vargas could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Judo has cracked it and Vargas is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Judo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jack Judo!

In his post fight interview, Jack Judo gave a big smile as he said 'Can I get a Shucky Ducky Quack Quack?'.
