PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hesa MC (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Psycho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hesa MC!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Psycho!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Psycho circles away from the clinch attempt

and Psycho counters with a nice double leg into guard.

MC wriggles free and stands up.

MC closes the distance and clinches.
Psycho is trying to force a seperation but MC has the dominant position.
MC with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Psycho tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Psycho throws an elbow that misses.
Nice body punch from MC - that landed with a thud.
Psycho wants to stall.
MC tries to throw a body punch but Psycho avoids it by throwing MC back against the cage.
MC missing with knees to the body.
Psycho avoids the elbow strike from MC, against the cage.
MC lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
MC lands an elbow that stopped Psycho in his tracks for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Psycho takes a knee to the side of the body.
MC lands a good knee to the midsection. Psycho won't want to take too many of those.
MC throws a knee to the head but misses.
MC lands a knee to the head.
A nice glancing elbow lands by MC.
MC tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
MC using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Psycho has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
MC lands a nice knee to the body.
A shot in the inside from MC.
Psycho is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
MC stops a takedown attempt from Psycho.
A quick uppercut on the inside from MC.
MC lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Psycho.
MC creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Psycho's defenses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
MC tries a knee to the head but Psycho blocks it.
Psycho managing to block the knees to the body from MC.
MC tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Psycho pulls guard effortlessly.

Psycho has his foot on MC's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. MC works his way back into a safe position though.

Psycho throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Psycho not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
MC controlling from the top position.
MC tries to stand but Psycho is controlling from the bottom.
Psycho utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Psycho wriggles free and stands up.
MC wants to clinch up but Psycho keeps it at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Psycho.
Hesa MC has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Psycho.

Psycho moves into the clinch successfully.
Psycho is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables MC to keep the fight standing.
Psycho managing to block the knees to the body from MC.
MC misses with a punch on the inside.
MC throws a knee to the head but misses.

Psycho has hold of one of MC's legs. MC is fighting the takedown attempt but Psycho gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Psycho stands up from guard. Let's bang!

MC moves into the clinch successfully.
MC creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Psycho's defenses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
MC with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
MC is pressed up against the cage. Psycho has hold of a leg and is looking to drag MC down to the mat. MC avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

MC closes the distance and pushes Psycho back into the cage.

Psycho's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Psycho goes for a double leg but MC avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as MC continues to drive forward.

MC fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Psycho, pushing him back against the cage.
Psycho managing to block the knees to the body from MC.
Psycho takes a shot to the head.
MC fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
MC tries to throw a body punch but Psycho avoids it by throwing MC back against the cage.
A body shot lands from MC.
Psycho takes an elbow to the forehead.
MC can't find room to land a body shot as Psycho controls the action.
MC tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Psycho avoids it.
MC misses with a knee strike.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. MC obliges.
Good body shot from MC.

Psycho gets control of MC's arms and successfully pulls guard. Psycho will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Psycho looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hesa MC dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


MC keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

MC has Psycho up against the cage in a clinch.
MC is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Psycho can do to turn this around?
Psycho takes an elbow to the forehead.
Psycho takes a knee right on the jaw!
Psycho is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Psycho avoids a wild elbow strike from MC.
MC lands an elbow inside.
MC comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
MC gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
MC lands a knee to the head.
Hesa MC has scored more points in the clinch so far.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, MC creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Psycho wants to break free but MC has control.
Psycho tries to stall but MC uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Our sources have told us that MC has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
A nice glancing elbow lands by MC.
This has been an exciting period of action!
MC lands a body punch.
MC is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Psycho is defending well for now.

Psycho pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
MC tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Psycho manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Psycho shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says MC as he avoids it easily.
Psycho scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Psycho darts in and clinches MC up against the cage.
MC misses with a body punch.
Psycho changes levels and goes for a takedown here. MC fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hesa MC has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Psycho.

Psycho closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming MC to the mat! MC manages to get full guard.
Psycho tries to free his leg and advance position but MC is retaining full guard.
MC is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Psycho is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Psycho got a little sloppy there for a moment and MC has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Psycho has managed to get both his arms back between MC's legs - danger averted.

MC throws his legs up looking for a submission but Psycho uses it to pass to side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

MC is trying to stand and escape here. He's got onto all fours but that's just let Psycho take his back! Uh oh - Psycho has got a rear naked choke here! MC is forced to tap! It's all over! One monent is all it takes in this sport!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Luke Psycho!
