Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Christian Rasmussen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Melvin Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Christian Rasmussen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Melvin Morris!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasmussen tries to clinch but Morris is having none of it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Morris bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rasmussen is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Morris asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Rasmussen avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Morris.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Morris looks up at the clock and then as Rasmussen takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Morris smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rasmussen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morris on the ground.
Morris creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rasmussen sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Rasmussen takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Rasmussen prevents Morris from moving into mount.
Morris in side control, throwing shots but Rasmussen defends.

Morris wants to control but Rasmussen is keeping him busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morris is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rasmussen has escaped the position, nice work there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Morris postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Rasmussen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rasmussen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Morris manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Morris fails with a takedown attempt.

Morris closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Morris tries to advance to mount but can't.
Morris throws a strike aimed at the side of Rasmussen's head but Rasmussen avoids it well.
Morris creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rasmussen sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Morris tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Morris has hold of Rasmussen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Rasmussen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Morris cranks the arm and Rasmussen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Rasmussen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Melvin Morris!
