Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lamont Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Bilkington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bilkington is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Head Bussa. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lamont Banner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Bilkington!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Bilkington's calf.
Banner lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Bilkington dives in for a single leg takedown but Banner sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Bilkington tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Banner swivels and escapes.
Bilkington throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Banner counters with a body kick.
Bilkington takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Bilkington on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Banner. Banner obviously looking to wear him down.
Bilkington misses with a takedown attempt - Banner sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lamont Banner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Bilkington.

Banner throws a counter high kick but Bilkington was just alert enough to avoid it.
Bilkington looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bilkington crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Banner - the referee stops the clock and Bilkington gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Banner. Bilkington manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Banner throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Bilkington takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Banner digs a good body shot into Bilkington's ribs.
Bilkington has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Banner.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Banner connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Banner sizes up Bilkington with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bilkington is still on wobbly legs! Can Banner finish him?

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bilkington is defended easily by Banner.
Bilkington closes the distance but Banner moves to the side
and Banner counters with a good low kick that Bilkington was not able to check.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Banner counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Bilkington seems to have recovered his senses.

Bilkington tries to score a power double leg takedown but Banner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bilkington somewhat.
Bilkington shoots in looking for a takedown. Banner tries to sprawl out of it but Bilkington keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Banner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lamont Banner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Bilkington.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bilkington tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Banner defends well and Bilkington ends up having to push Banner into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Banner manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

and Banner finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Bobby Bilkington is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Banner connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Banner lands a leg kick that knocks Bilkington off balance momentarily.
Bilkington shoots in looking for a takedown but Banner manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bilkington's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Banner feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bilkingtons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Bilkington walks straight into a right hand from Banner - that's dropped him! Banner jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Bilkington from any more punishment! Bilkington complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

The defeated Bobby Bilkington had this to say: 'You Can't win them all, the better man won tonight. Next fight i'm gonna come out twice as hungry'.
